“OTB”
12.5% Rider Horse Ration is ideal to
feed performance horses in high levels of training and
conditioning. This feed is designed for horses in moderate to
high levels of training of 2-4 hours/day. It is a textured feed
with molasses that horses find very palatable. It contains a higher
starch level than other OTB Horse rations to meet the caloric demand
for peak performance.
The 12.5% protein level is
balanced with the essential amino acids including lysine which is
often the most limiting amino acid seen in horse diets. Lysine is
important to aid in the removal of lactic acid from the muscles and
reducing the potential of body soreness of the equine athlete.
Performance horses can
suffer increased levels of gastric stomach upsets due to a number of
reasons however the 12.5% Rider Horse Ration has buffers that assist
in reducing stomach acidity that can increase the risk of gastric
ulcers.
The 12.5% Rider Horse Ration
is designed to be fed with Alberta forages as a total balanced diet
for the horse. This feed is made for Alberta horses on Alberta
forages
The 12.5% Rider Horse Ration also contains
highly available organic zinc, copper, cobalt and manganese which
are readily absorbed through the digestive tract wall into the
bloodstream.

promotes healthy hoof growth in horses.
How much should I feed?
“OTB”
12.5% Rider Horse Ration should be fed
at 9 - 15 lbs/ day (1100 lb horse*)
* The risk of
metabolic problems for the horse can be avoided if the horse is
fed more than once a day.
Feeding a high quality
mineral with chelated copper, manganese, zinc and cobalt like the
“OTB” Equine Endurance Premix is highly recommended for young
horses since they are still growing
One should also feed good
quality, non-dusty hay and allow access to fresh drinking water.
